It's been a busy few days, and I have a few things to say, but they'll just have to wait. I just can't focus because my parents-in-law are really and truly on their way. Their flight wasn't cancelled like Tomye's was. Phew. We've been tidying up piecemeal for the last few days--the sort of thing that ought to be done every day anyway, and is undone almost immediately. So today I made a better effort, put away the sewing table, inflated the bed, and got the diaper bin out of the "guest room." I also made two loaves of Whole Wheat Apricot and Raisin Bread, a batch of Petticoat Tail cookies from Betty Crocker (1950 edition), and there are two loaves of Debra Madison's Classic Sandwich bread in the oven right now. Oh yes. I am sad to say, however, that almost all of one loaf of the wheat bread is almost gone. It wasn't just me.
Not only am I too disorganized to talk about what's been going on the past few days, I haven't downloaded my camera either. But I do have a couple of photos for you anyway. We went to a sculpture park the other day and there were a couple of professional photographers there. I just happened to look up while one of them was taking a picture of us and he sent to the photo to me. I think it's so funny--I'm right in between the pleasure of watching Jane and Matt and the realization that someone is taking our photo. As my dad put it, we look like we've been paparazzied.
And it's pretty much impossible to believe the big girl standing there was learning to roll over exactly a year ago today.
I'll be back in the next few days with thoughts on recipes, evidence of spring, and a photo of The Shroud of Tenino..... Betcha can't wait.
